After five years on World In Action, Richard directed documentaries for the BBC, ITV and WGBH before starting Fulcrum in 1986. He has produced, directed or executive produced programmes for every major UK and US broadcaster, winning awards on both sides of the Atlantic.
He is also a successful popular author. His most recent book SAS Operation Storm was published in August 2011 and, so far, has been an instant best seller in the UK and Australia. Before that he was the author of Terminate with Extreme Prejudice (Constable and Robinson) and Can You Crack the Enigma Code? (Orion). He has been a guest speaker at meetings of the British Forensic Society and Le Monde Diplomatique. He is a member of RUSI, Chatham House and the Crime Writers Association. His books have now been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Dutch and Italian. He was recently a guest speaker at the National Security Agency’s Cryptologic History Symposium in Laurel, Maryland, USA.
